Overview

This photo tour of the Colorado high country is unlike any being offered! We will totally immerse ourselves in photography over the next 10 days utilizing my knowledge of the states hidden gems, 4x4'ing to remote locations high in the mountains where we will be able to photograph lush wildflower meadows, alpine tarns, towering mountain peaks, streams, waterfalls and some of the most majestic mountain scenery in the lower 48.

Most, if not all nights, will be spent in camps ranging from 9,000 to 12,500 feet in elevation where we will be able to sleep only footsteps from some of the most impressive mountain scenery in the Rocky Mountains. Each day we will travel to new locations across the state, often driving rough 4x4 roads to achieve unique locations and vantage points in the mountains. It could be one day we are camped high in the San Juan Mountains and the next drive 200 miles to a dune field below the peaks of the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, all options are open and Joe will use his extensive knowledge of the state and weather forecasting put the group in the right place under the best light and weather for dramatic landscape imagery.

We will have a break out processing session on the last day of the workshop in Grand Junction, CO.

*this workshop his for the advanced photographer

Physical Difficulty

This workshop will take place at high altitudes and will involve some minor hiking of no more than 2 miles per day (not everyday). Clients will also need to be comfortable roughing it and camping most if not all nights of the workshop.

Our Vision & Focus

Joseph will focus on learning to “see” the landscape in new ways; unlocking creativity in situations that require conceptual and compositional ingenuity.  In addition to composition and creative vision, they will discuss the best use of light and subject matter to create a memorable and publishable image.

During classroom sessions Joseph will focus on teaching a logical, effective workflow that ensures the highest quality for your work, as well an image archive that is stable, consistent, and retrievable over the long term, and that ultimately liberates rather than burdens.  They will cover step by step the process from shooting RAW files in the field to optimizing the final image in Adobe Lightroom & Photoshop.

Booking

A non-refundable deposit of 650.00 USD is required to secure a space on this workshop.  Final payment is due 60 days prior to the start of this workshop.  There is no refund after the final payment has been made (unless we can fill your spot).  Please see our cancellation policy for more detailed information.

Accommodations & Travel

Clients should plan on flying in and out of Grand Junction, Colorado often connecting through either Denver of Salt Lake City. We will stay the first night and last night at a hotel (TBD) in Grand Junction.

A high clearance 4x4 vehicle is a must! This tour will be limited to a small group of 6 photographers, so we encourage clients to share a 4x4 rental for the trip to minimize our ecological footprint and make traveling easier.
