Charleston is a beautiful southern city sitting on the coast. Over this workshop we will shoot the Magnolia Plantation, Bald Cypress swamps, ancient Live Oaks draped in moss, the bone yard of skeleton trees on Edisto Island, Folly Beach and old city architecture.
After we finish up in Charleston, we will be traveling two hours south the Savannah, Georgia. Savannah is the oldest city in the U.S. state of Georgia and we will be photographing its cobblestone streets, parks, and notable historic buildings. Savannah's downtown area, which includes the Savannah Historic District, the Savannah Victorian Historic District, and 22 parklike squares, is one of the largest National Historic Landmark Districts in the United States
This five day tour of America's old southern cities and plantations will allow us to photograph a variety of subjects from southern plantations and gardens to old cemeteries and historic downtowns and much more.
The tour will begin on March 17th at 2pm with an introductory meet and greet at the Courtyard by Marriott, North Charleston followed by an afternoon/sunset shoot.
March 18- 20. On each day thereafter, we will meet well before sunrise for morning drives to some of the most beautiful and stunning southern scenery followed by several hours of morning photography while the light is still good in the surrounding plantations and old cemeteries.. In the afternoon, we will break for lunch/processing sessions at the hotel followed by an afternoon photo session and sunset shoot (weather permitting).
Some of the area's we will visit in Charleston include Magnolia Plantation, Downtown Charleston, Ravenel Bridge, historic cemeteries, oak row's and much more.
After checkout from our hotel on the 20th, we will drive two hours south to Savannah where we will check into the Courtyard by Marriott/Downtown Historic District. That afternoon we will do a city walk and photograph the many parks, statues, old building, historic Holmes, cobblestone streets and gardens of historic Savannah. The next morning we will photograph sunrise out on Tybee Island followed by a visit to the Wormhole Plantation to photograph it's iconic live oak lane. The Workshop will conclude at 11pm.
